Data Policy
How your study material moves through StudyDis — from the photo you take to the questions you practise — and the one optional place where anonymised patterns are used.
The path of an upload
- Before upload, your phone or browser checks the photo is readable and the file type is JPG, PNG or PDF.
- The pages are stored in your account and read to find the topic, concepts, definitions and formulas.
- Questions are generated and ranked for you, using your notes, your papers and what you've recorded your teacher asking.
- Everything is filed into your study archive by subject, chapter and date.
What stays private — always
Your photos, PDFs, the text read from them, your answers, your name and your school. These are only ever used to serve you, and are never shown to another student.
Anonymised patterns — only if you opt in
With your consent, StudyDis may use aggregated, anonymised signals to improve pattern detection for everyone. For example: “questions on Newton's second law often ask for a statement and an example.”
- Signals are combined across many students before they're used.
- They never contain images, handwriting, full notes, names or school names.
- You can switch this off in Settings at any time; it stops new signals from your account.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside StudyDis is limited to what's needed to run and support the service.
Export and deletion
Export all of your data from Settings as a file. Deleting an upload, a paper or your whole account removes it from StudyDis straight away and from backups within 30 days.
